2LIFE AO DAI (read as Second Life Ao Dai) was created as a revival dream, a wish to give a second life to the used but still elegant Ao Dai, turn it into a cultural gift for France, and come with a story of the memories associated with the Ao Dai.

These Ao Dai will be given to French people who participate in Toucher Arts' event to raise funds for Vietnamese children in need.

2LIFE AO DAI started from March to May 2023 and is proud to have received more than 500 Ao Dai from the Vietnamese community all around the world.

200 paintings of children from across the world
will be displayed in the international exhibition CONNECTIONS,
which will be hosted
at two cities in France:
  • The International Cultural Center Carre. Saint Herblain: June 23rd and 24th, 2023

  • Larmor-Plage's Esplanade des Algues Exhibition Centre: July 1st and 2nd, 2023

Furthermore, at the exhibitions, there will be a variety of workshops where participants may learn more about Vietnamese culture and obtain wonderful presents.

The opening event for the series of the TOUCHER ARTS project’s activities in France was held at the Kervignac town hall on May 13, 2023.

Special stories and unique memories related to Ao Dai were shared by 4 speakers: Ms. Dominique Penhoat, a Vietnamese French artist; Kevin Nguyen, a 12-year-old boy with 2 years of experience conducting workshops promoting Vietnamese culture; Ms. Nguyen Thi Cuc, a university teacher and special guest from Vietnam; and Mrs. Hoang Thu Trang, head of the ART SPACE and the founder of the Toucher Arts project.

Toucher Arts welcomes a photo exhibition “Dreamy Hoi An” from young artist Thao Nguyen.

Thao Nguyen is a young artist living in France with more than 10 years of professional experience and training in artistic research and digital and interactive media.

Although she grew up in Hanoi, Thao Nguyen had undertaken to explore Hoi An from a tourist’s point of view exploring the relation between the traditional image and the modern one.

The exhibition takes place at Kervignac’s city hall from the 13th to the 28th of May 2023.
